Rider Agreement

This is the agreement between you, as a rider, and Kuvetra. It is written in plain language on purpose. Read it before you accept. Last updated October 2026.

You work for yourself

You are an independent rider. Kuvetra does not employ you. You own or hire your own motorbike, you pay your own fuel, repairs and daily costs, and you decide when to go online and which trips to accept. You receive no wage, no leave and no benefits from Kuvetra, and nothing in this agreement makes you an employee, agent or partner of Kuvetra.

What you must have before you ride

Insurance is the one we cannot bend on

Your insurance must cover carrying passengers for hire. Ordinary private motorbike cover is not enough and will not pay out if a passenger is hurt. You must keep it valid for as long as you use Kuvetra, and you must tell your chairman immediately if it lapses, is cancelled, or changes.

Riding a Kuvetra trip without valid passenger cover is a serious breach. Your account will be suspended, and any consequences of riding uninsured fall on you.

Verification

Your stage chairman checks your documents before you can go online. If your application is rejected you can send it to Kuvetra for review, and we will tell you what the problem is and what to do about it. Our decision after that review is final.

Submitting false, altered or borrowed documents means permanent removal from Kuvetra, and we may report it to the authorities.

How you must ride

Suspension

Your chairman may suspend you for breaking the riding rules, for repeated low ratings, for letting your documents or insurance expire, or for conduct that puts passengers at risk. Kuvetra may also suspend an account directly where safety is involved. You can ask Kuvetra to review any suspension.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using Kuvetra at any time, for any reason, with no notice and no penalty. Kuvetra can end this agreement if you break it. You can delete your account and data at any time from the Profile screen. See Delete your account.

Who is responsible for a trip

Kuvetra connects you with passengers. We do not carry anyone, we do not own your bike, and we do not control how you ride. The trip itself is between you and your passenger, and you are responsible for riding safely and lawfully, and for the passenger’s safety while they are on your bike.

If something goes wrong on a trip, your insurance is the cover that responds. You are responsible for your own breaches of the law and your own unsafe riding, and for any claim that comes out of them. To the maximum extent Kenyan law allows, Kuvetra is not liable for what happens during a trip. Nothing in this agreement removes any liability that Kenyan law does not allow to be removed.

Your information

We handle your personal data, including your documents and your location while you are on a trip, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your stage chairman can see your verification documents in order to approve you. While you are online, your phone shares your location about once a minute, also when Kuvetra is in the background, so passengers can find you; a notification shows the whole time, and going offline stops it. While you are online, your chairman can also ask to see your current location. You get a notification each time, and it is never shown while you are carrying a passenger.

Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement and will note the date at the top. For any change that affects your money or your obligations, we will notify you in the app first. Continuing to ride after a change means you accept it.

Disagreements

Raise it with your stage chairman first. If that does not settle it, send it to Kuvetra. If it still is not settled, Kenyan law applies and the Kenyan courts have jurisdiction.
